Psychiatric disorders are increasingly prevalent and associated with significant disease burden, but knowing how to strategically position the current, evidenced-based treatment options and how to cross taper and change medications can be a challenge to learn and implement. Importantly, the troubling state of our nation’s mental health, elevated by the pandemic, has resulted in a renewed clarion call to optimize delivery of quality mental health care, no longer trading physical health for mental health. Advanced practice professionals (APPs) who are in the trenches are uniquely positioned to address this call and they have been asking for the continued insights from providers who treat hundreds of patients per month. They seek to elevate psychiatric care by applying current best practices and advancements in the field. This conference is designed to do just that—to truly meet the need in education that is so genuinely desired!

Real Psychiatry is an immersive conference designed by psychiatric APPs who see hundreds of patients per month for psychiatric APPs who treat hundreds of patients per month. The conference features expert presentations and panel discussions that showcase best practices for managing a multitude of psychiatric diagnoses, including major depressive disorder, substance use disorders, bipolar, schizophrenia, ADHD and many more. Emerging treatments and data from ongoing clinical trials that may impact clinical practice in the near future will also be addressed.

Importantly, Real Psychiatry takes a different, upbeat and fun learning approach by creating the opportunity for participants to review patient scenarios, integrate relevant evidence into real-world management, and compare their practices with those of experts and peers all from the APP community.

Visionary Psychiatry Featured on Fox 12 Oregon: Addressing Oregon’s Mental Health Crisis with Compassionate Care

We are thrilled to share some exciting news with you—Visionary Psychiatry has been featured on Fox 12 Oregon! 🎉This feature highlights our commitment to providing exceptional mental health care and the incredible work our team does every day. We are proud to be recognized for our dedication to our patients and the community.Did you know that only 26% of mental health needs are currently met in Oregon? Additionally, shortages in the behavioral health workforce are particularly acute for children, with more than half of respondents in a national survey from Oregon reporting it was “somewhat” or “very difficult” to receive mental health care for adolescents and children, compared to a national average of 43%.At Visionary Psychiatry, we are striving to change that by offering comprehensive and compassionate care to those who need it most.

The Importance of Deprescribing: A Path to Safer and Healthier Aging

In the world of healthcare, we often hear about the benefits of medications—how they can improve lives, manage chronic conditions, and even extend lifespans. But there's an equally important concept called deprescribing, which focuses on reducing or stopping medications that may no longer serve a beneficial purpose. This practice, while less commonly discussed, can be just as crucial, especially for older adults managing multiple prescriptions. Let’s explore why deprescribing is vital and how it can improve quality of life.
